Creating a Cultural Icon.

In the heart of Glasgow’s cultural scene, SWG3 is more than a venue — it’s a place where creativity, community and commerce collide.

Where inspiration is infectious.
Where experimentation thrives.
Where memories are made.

That spirit sits at the heart of everything SWG3 does, and it became the foundation for the experience and aesthetic we created at swg3.tv

The Challenge

SWG3 had outgrown its existing website. Navigation was clunky, the design didn’t reflect the venue’s creativity, and performance was struggling under the weight of growing online traffic.

They needed a digital presence that could speak to multiple user groups, from ticket buyers to brand collaborators, and meet SWG3’s masterplan to evolve into a major cultural destination – all while remaining accessible, flexible and unmistakably SWG3.

The Solution

The look and feel of our what’s on content is inspired by print-programme layouts and typography.

The data is pulled from the Ticketmaster API into the website CMS, allowing us to rapidly serve live information, and apply tailored filtering with bookings handed off for conversion on the Ticketmaster website.

A bold, energetic video header brings the energy of SWG3 to life on the homepage – showcasing the multi-disciplinary nature of this cultural icon.

Instagram feeds, integrated directly into the homepage, give a sense of the SWG3 buzz, and event pages are enhanced with YouTube and Spotify API integrations to help bring events and artist content to life.

Swg3.Tv Web Navigation

UX

Our sticky, mobile-first navigation can be accessed at all times — revealing a full-screen, single-focus navigation design that's bold, accessible and usable.

SWG3: a space for work, play, and everything in between.

Our distinctive design created a unified, flexible platform that can adapt and grow alongside their ever-evolving brand identity and business goals.

What started as artists' studios in a derelict warehouse is now one of Europe’s most credible, loved, multi-disciplinary arts venues. Their new website is part of their next evolutionary step that will see SWG3 expand into a major cultural destination and Scottish tourist attraction.

Communicating their vision and masterplan were crucial aspects of the project and our work helps SWG3 to thrive as a hub of creativity and community, ensuring it remains a vital part of Scotland’s cultural landscape.

Award-winning

The website won gold in the Interface Design category at the Scottish Design Awards 2024.
